Member for Lismore, Janelle Saffin has taken to social media to announce that all of regional New South Wales, including Tweed Shire will go into a seven day lockdown from 5pm today, Saturday 14th of August.
This means that Tweed shire council district, Kyogle and Tenterfield Shire along with all other New South Wales regional local government areas will be in lockdown until Saturday the 21st of August.
The announcement comes after a Twitter from New South Wales Deputy Premier, John Barilaro MP suggesting the lockdown earlier this afternoon.
Residents are required to stay at home, continue to practice social distancing and good hygiene. You will be permitted to leave home for essential services, including food and medical reasons, to get a Covid19 vaccination but must wear a mask at all times.
