COVID-19 infections slowing down in Logan and the Scenic Rim

The number of people infected with COVID-19 has climbed again in Logan and the Scenic Rim but not as much as yesterday, as Queensland recorded another 10 deaths overnight.

Logan has recorded another 824 infections, which takes the total number of cases across the city to 17,334.

While the Scenic Rim recorded another 37 new cases, bringing the total to 871.

Queensland Health has also reported a lower number of state wide infections in the last 24 hours.

15,050 cases were recorded, taking the total number in the state to 313,204. 

884 people are in hospital and 52 are in intensive care.

Of the deaths, one person was aged in their 40s, another in their 50s, six were aged in their 80s and two in their 90s.

Chief Health Officer Doctor John Gerard says one person was unvaccinated, six had received two doses of vaccine, and three people had received their booster shots.
