It’s hoped, Logan City and Scenic Rim locals could be free to roam with a mask from this Friday, pending an announcement from Chief Health Officer Doctor Jeannette Young.
However, the list of exposure sites continues to grow with officials very worried about locations to the south of Logan City, raising the possibility that the mask mandate may stay in place for another week.
Health Minister Yvette D’ath admits, we’ve so-far been lucky to avoid community transmission.
However, officials remain concerned about the high number of exposure sites – most notably to the south of Logan City – primarily around Helensvale.
