Greenbank electrical substation set to help Queensland’s energy storage capacity

A 400MWh [megawatt hours] battery will soon be installed at Greenbank as part of another battery blitz to grow Queensland’s energy storage capacity.

Woodridge MP Cameron Dick announced the QLD government will be funding 13 of the large-scale batteries that will be rolled out across the state, in the hopes of ramping up QLD’s energy independence, with the Greenbank’s new battery the largest in the state.

Jordan MP Charis Mullen says the Greenbank substation has played an important role in regional energy transmission since 2006 and the new 400MWhr battery will be a vital part of Queensland’s renewable energy revolution.
