Beenleigh Yatala 2020/21 chamber of commerce committee revealed

The Beenleigh Yatala Chamber of Commerce held their annual general meeting at the Beenleigh Club, where members reflected on a tough year and announced their 2020/21 executive committee members.

2019/2020 Chamber president Kerrie Saverin said it was a privilege to serve as president in a year that will go down in history.

“We began the year with a laser-like focus on growing the chamber membership base and continuing to provide the business community with quality guest speakers and opportunities for promotion, however by December 2019 we noticed the tide started to turn,” Ms Saverin said.

“We were receiving phone calls and emails from businesses who were struggling to obtain stock out of China and were trying to source Australian alternatives.

“The business community was sent into a spin as the decision was then made to cancel in-person events until further notice.

“The Chamber focus has always been on growing and supporting local business and providing opportunities for promotion and discussions with all levels of government.

“We understand that the business community will face many challenges in the 2020/21 year, and we are here to support you.

“The Beenleigh Yatala Chamber of Commerce has operated since 1969, and the focus has always been on supporting the business community. We are ready for the challenge ahead and our members should be proud to be part of a fantastic business community.”

The 2020/21 executive committee:

President – Kerrie Saverin
Vice President – Ray Leon
Treasurer – Leanne Taylor
Secretary – Shane Drew
Junior Chamber – Heather Christensen
Committee – Hanzel Hizola
Committee – Lachlan Gardner
