Man under police investigation after crash at Slacks Creek

A 27 year old man is in hospital and assisting police with their inquiries after his ute crashed at Slacks Creek early this morning.

The man was allegedly driving a Toyota Hilux which was towing a stolen sports car when police spotted the vehicle on Jacob Wells Road just after 3 a.m before it travelled into Pimpama, went through a roundabout and blew out tyres on the trailer after hitting the medium strip.

The Hilux then continued northbound on the M1 and was allegedly swerving and driving dangerously before taking the Murray Road exit at Slacks Creek and crashing into a hill after failing to negotiate a bend in the road.

The driver was treated at the scene by paramedics before being taken to Princess Alexandra Hospital in Brisbane with minor injuries.
