It has been revealed that a bus driver is assaulted every week, while one is abused or threatened every day across the southeast Queensland region.
On Monday, a Clarks Bus company driver had a chemical substance thrown into his face at Loganholme.
Tom Brown from the Rail Tram and Bus union said that attack is part of a growing trend that needs to be addressed.
“Enough isn’t being done and we’re seeing this even in the bigger picture with the crime wave,” he said.
“Some Councils aren’t doing enough, they tend to flick it on to the government.”
The Clarks Bus driver has been released from hospital and police are continuing their investigation into Monday’s incident.
