All of the presents have been donated, bagged and are ready to go for this year’s Logan City Emergency Services Santa Run, giving the gift of Christmas cheer to underprivileged local kids in need.
The week before Christmas all of the local emergency services involved – police, fire services, SES volunteers, ambulance services, and Logan House Fire Support Network – gathered at the Woodridge Fire Station to organise all of the donated presents to give out on Christmas Day.
Louie Naumovski from Logan House Fire Support Network said it was a wonderful initiative and they were looking forward to Christmas Day.
“The whole purpose is to bring joy to the children of Logan,” he said.
“On Christmas morning we will be departing Woodridge Fire Station at approximately 9am and will be travelling around the streets of Logan handing out lollies.
“We’ll be stopping off at a few destinations along the way handing out presents to children along the way.
“Then we’ll go all the way to our final destination which will be Logan’s Children’s Hospital.
“We’ll be walking around the wards with Santa and all of the emergency services mascots and handing out presents and lollies to those children that are a bit less fortunate and are stuck in hospital over the festive season.”
