The border checkpoints in the Scenic Rim will be removed and travellers will no longer have to show proof of a negative COVID-19 test from early tomorrow.
The Summerland Way border will open at 1am and Lions Road at 5am.
Beaudesert police have been monitoring the Queensland/New South Wales border at Palen Creek since entry restrictions were introduced in 2020.
The decision to remove the border checkpoints came with the Omicron variant already widespread in the community and 90 percent of eligible Queenslanders expected to be fully vaccinated next week.

As of last Monday only 86.7 percent of Beaudesert residents had received their first jab and 82.5 percent double dosed.
At Jimboomba 93.1 per cent had received their first dose and 89.1 percent were double vaccinated.
