Despite a rough start to the new year for Logan City, as it was declared a COVID-19 hotspot, things are looking sweeter with a dessert festival on the horizons.

Early Birds Rochedale is teaming up with local Brisbane dessert trucks for a Dessert Festival in Rochedale on Saturday, February 6, running from 11am to 3pm.

The event will feature Ekka favourites from Lick! ice-cream alongside local dessert food trucks.

To keep the kids occupied, the event will also have a water slide jumping castle, face painting, and plenty of games plus competitions.

Well-known in the community “The Dagwood Dog Guy” will also be in attendance, serving up event goers with his famous dagwood dogs, and other carnival favourites such as fairy floss, waffles, and more.

The event will be a COVID-19 safe to ensure the safety of the local community.

According to organisers the purpose of the event is to bring together the local Rochedale community to enjoy fun after the long weekend COVID-19 lockdown.

Organisers, Early Birds Rochedale, also known as Parfrey Road Education and Childcare, is one of the longest standing education and childcare centres in the Rochedale area.

The Centre has been owned and operated by the Bird Family since 1991 when they bought the centre.
