The Hillcrest Karaoke Competition with a twist

The Rockaoke Competition currently underway at the Greenbank RSL is in its 3rd week of heats, as competitors gear up for another night of head to head singing this Friday night.

But this karaoke competition is quite different from others. Contestants will choose their songs and will then perform with a real life rock band!

$8,000 is up for grabs for those entered into the Greenbank RSL’s Rockaoke Competition, which goes ahead every Friday evening. Registration is from 7pm until 8.30pm sharp, and kicks off at 8pm.

This Friday February 26th is Heat 4, with Heat 5 on Friday 5th March, and Heat 6 on Friday 12th March. Semi-Finals contestants will battle it out on Friday 19th March, and those left standing will head into the big Grand Final on Friday 26th March.

The prizes up for grabs are:

Weekly Heats 1-6:

  • 2 x Winning Contestants to win a place in the Semi-Final plus $100 cash
  • Semi-Final: 8 x Winning Contestants to win a place in the Grand Final plus $100 cash each
  • Grand Final: 1st place $3,000 cash I 2nd Place $1,500 cash I 3rd Place $500 cash I 4th-8th Place $100 cash

Remember, all registered contestants will be judged by the following three criteria:

  • Vocal Abilities: Maximum 50 points
  • Presentation and Showmanship: Maximum 35 points
  • Technical Skills: Maximum 15 points

Competitors will be judged by a panel of three judges, which means a maximum of 300 points can be awarded per contestant, with a maximum of 100 points per judge.
