Woman arrested for her latest attempt to get into Qld

A woman who was intercepted on three earlier occasions attempting to cross the border at Goondiwindi from New South Wales has been arrested today after police found her at a home in Warwick.

Police went to her home around 8.20am where they found a vehicle registered in the woman’s name parked outside.

A subsequent search of the house resulted in the  49-year-old  being found  barricaded in one of the bedrooms.

She was arrested and taken back to Warwick Watchhouse and charged with Fail to comply with a Covid-19 Public Health Direction.

On August 18 the woman was discovered by police after attempting to conceal herself under blankets and clothing in the boot of a car that was on the back of a tow truck.

She was arrested and transported to Boggabilla in New South Wales and fined $4,135 for Fail to Comply with a COVID-19 Border Direction.

The woman had been denied entry to Queensland at the same border crossing in Goondiwindi twice before.
