Scenic Rim MP Jon Krause is rejoicing after the announcement that construction of the South-west water pipeline WILL go ahead.
The recent Queensland State budget confirmed that the 95-million dollar project will see the pipeline connect Beaudesert and surrounding areas to the South-East Queensland water grid.
“It’s important for the water security of the Beaudesert district” Mr Krause said.
“There’s a great deal of residential growth planned and it will also take pressure off the Logan River”.
Mr Krause said it should also allow greater allocation of water for the area’s farmers.
It’s hoped construction will be completed by 2024.
