Call for external review of fatal fire

A domestic violence prevention campaigner is calling for an external review, following last week’s death of a woman in an apparent domestic violence incident in Logan City.

Red Rose Foundation CEO Betty Taylor has said a police review and coronial investigation isn’t enough:

”I’m calling for an external review. I think that if victims are going to have confidence that they can go to the police and all of their safety concerns are taken seriously, then we need to be robust in any examination we’re doing”.

Meanwhile, the police response into the incident continues to be the key focus of the coronial inquest into the tragedy.

It follows revelations Doreen Langham called triple zero a few hours before her Browns Plains townhouse was destroyed by flames.
