Students at Logan Special School enjoy police visit

  • Rod Stephen is a former television journalist and has worked as Foreign Editor for the Seven Network, Australian Bureau Chief for TV3 New Zealand, UK correspondent for Seven and ABC radio and as a producer for Reuters TV in London as well as SBS in Sydney and Melbourne before returning to Brisbane to work at 4BC.

As part of the Adopt-A-Cops program officers from Logan Central Police, along with two officers from the Mounted Police Unit, have attended Logan City Special School.

There are approximately 250 students with intellectual, autism, and other disabilities, enrolled for the Early Childhood Development Program through to Year 12.

Adopt-A-Cops attend the school regularly, interacting with the students in a fun way, providing positive messaging about road, personal safety, and more.

This time students had turns sitting in the police all-terrain vehicle and then patting the horses.

Constable Sharon Apap has said officers from Logan Central Police Station are proud to be active members of the Adopt-A-Cop program, which builds and fosters relationships between police and members of the school community.
