Code-hopper Karmichael Hunt said he’s looking forward to his return to rugby league in 2021.

He has been training with Intrust Super Cup team Souths Logan Magpies since January.

It’s a feeder team to the Brisbane Broncos and Hunt said if his comeback goes well, he’ll be ready to answer the call if coach Kevin Walters comes calling.

“Kevvie knows I’m around, so if he needs the help and gives me a call, you know I won’t turn down my old club,” said Hunt.

“But first and foremost, it’s Souths and it’s playing good football and we’ll see what happens after that.”

Since defecting from rugby league in 2009, Hunt has switched codes twice.

He first went over to the AFL to play for the Gold Coast Suns, before changing again to rugby union and playing for the Queensland Reds.
