Logan City Council to honour locals this Australia Day

Logan City Council will be hosting its annual Australia Day Awards, and a citizenship ceremony, at 10.30am at the Logan Entertainment Centre on January 26.

Approximately 300 people will be in attendance at the event.

According a Logan City Council spokesperson, the event is invite only ‘for COVID reasons’.

“About 120 adults and 20 children are to become Australian citizens at the event….this time round, the majority of these soon-to-be citizens hail from New Zealand,” she said.

“Logan’s annual Citizen of the Year and Young Person of the Year awards will be given out at the event, and this year, two individuals will also receive Spirit of Logan awards for their commendable community service efforts.”

Mayor, Darren Power will be in attendance to welcome Logan city’s newest Australian citizens, and to congratulate the award winners.
