A driver of a blue hatchback has learned an important lesson after attempting to take a shortcut over boggy ground to bypass flooded waters.
The vehicle owner made the attempt after watching a 4WD go cross-country from Carnival St onto Loganlea Road over grassy land that had been inundated with water.
The car quickly got bogged and required the assistance of two passers-by to become extricated from its position.
The incident is a timely reminder that – even if the road is flooded – going off-road is not the answer.
The situation occurred due to water over the road at Loganlea Road nearby the Logan River at Loganlea.
